About Color Picker

Quickly sample colors from images and the screen

The color picker reads image pixels locally in your browser, so clicking an image returns the exact sampled color. Browsers with EyeDropper support can also pick colors from the screen. The tool shows common color formats and extracts a dominant palette from the image.

Features

  • Click any uploaded image point to sample a pixel color
  • Use native browser screen picking when supported
  • Copy HEX, RGB, HSL, and HSV values
  • Extract up to 8 dominant image colors
  • Keep recent colors for repeated copying
  • Process everything locally in the browser without server uploads

How to Use

  1. 1Upload or drag an image into the tool
  2. 2Click any color in the image preview
  3. 3Copy the needed format from the current color panel
  4. 4Select a dominant palette swatch to use that color
  5. 5Use screen picking in browsers that support it

FAQ

Will my image be uploaded?
No. Image reading, color picking, and palette extraction run locally in your browser.
Why is screen picking unavailable?
Screen picking uses the browser EyeDropper API, which is not supported in every browser.
Are palette percentages exact?
Percentages come from downsampled pixel statistics, so they are useful quick references rather than professional color analysis.
Which color formats are supported?
The current color is shown as HEX, RGB, HSL, and HSV.
How are transparent images handled?
Transparent pixels are ignored during palette extraction, while clicking a transparent point still reads that pixel.
